‘Lazy’ Skincare Routine for a Relaxing Weekend

‘Lazy’ Skincare Routine for a Relaxing Weekend

Assumedly, you'll have to make some sacrifices if you want to be lax about your skincare routine? This is not the case. To your advantage, if you know where to look, you can still take care of your skin on the weekend and be lazy about it.

The urge to sit down and watch all of the new episodes of Stranger Things that have been uploaded to Netflix is strong, but we've found another way to be lazy that's also relaxing and fruitful. While you're catching up on your favourite show, you can still take care of your skin. This article is the secret to a hassle-free, lazy skincare routine perfect for a relaxing weekend.

Instead, set up a nightstand routine

Rather than properly cleansing our faces and removing our make-up before bed, many of us spend our nights glued to Instagram, scrolling for hours. And then we wake up with a new zit on our faces the next day. Bravo! Therefore, in honour of the lazy ladies, we have decided to come up with a new routine that does not involve the use of a sink so that you, lazy ladies, can be lazy while still being responsible. Having a few essentials on your nightstand will ensure that you never have an excuse for not removing your makeup before going to sleep!

You cannot go wrong by keeping makeup wipes at your bedside, but you can do even better if you put some lip balm there too. You can also lessen the appearance of dark circles and puffiness under your eyes by keeping an eye cream, a toner, and a moisturiser close by on your nightstand. This will also help keep your skin from drying out.

Use products that can be repurposed

Using products that serve more than one purpose to keep your skin clear is an essential component of a lazy skincare routine. You should find products that can serve both as an exfoliant and a mask. That way, you will be able to cut down on the amount of time and money you spend on skincare in the long run.

Switch to pre-soaked pads

It takes too long to put on toner with a cotton pad because it's boring. "Just swipe and done" is our lazy credo, after all. Pre-soaked pads are a better option.

Put on an overnight face mask

Since overnight masks are easy to use, we still prefer them, because of what they have to offer in terms of hydrating the skin adequately while they are on. Mud masks are a lot of fun, but removing them can be a real pain. Peel-off masks are another option, but they are a bit more difficult to remove. With a night-time mask, your skin gets the nutrition and hydration it needs while you sleep. You'll notice your skin is glowing when you wake up in the morning. Basically, it's a lazy girl's wildest dream.

Spray your toner onto your face with a mist bottle.

This ruse will come in handy more than once in your life. Rather than using cotton pads, you should choose to carry a travel-size mist bottle since, first of all, you are lazy, and second of all, you are tired of spending money on products that last just a few minutes. It will add a whole new flair to your lazy girl charm. Rather than swiping your toner over your face, you should spray it on before you go to bed. In just a matter of seconds, the toner spreads evenly throughout your face. It is very convenient and easy to use. As far as you are concerned, this is genius.

You can be lazy about the steps that are not suitable for you

Even though an 11-step skincare routine might be perfect for some people, it's possible that your skin doesn't need quite that many steps in the morning to look its absolute best. It goes without saying that nobody has the time for that, right? Relaxing weekends are for lazing about and not doing an 11-step skincare regime.

Set up a skincare regimen that's suited to your particular skin type and preferences. Unless you are over the age of 22 and concerned about wrinkles, you do not require a product containing retinol. If you don't already have acne, an AHA/BHA combination won't be nearly as effective for you. For best results, choose a treatment according to your skin type.

You don't have to do that every single night. Depending on the severity of your acne, your dermatologist may advise you to forego exfoliating peels in favour of brightening or moisturising your skin instead. You are free to switch up your skincare routine whenever it best suits you.

Make sure you are sun-safe with SPF

It doesn't matter if you're lazy or not, you absolutely need to wear sunscreen. If you want to keep the harmful effects of the sun off of your skin, you should put sunscreen on first thing in the morning. Although you have probably heard it before, one of the most effective means of slowing down the ageing process and getting rid of all the dark spots on your skin is to protect your skin from environmental damage. If you want to see a noticeable change in how your skin looks, it is absolutely necessary for you to take care of your skin first thing every morning.

Doze off for a little while

Take your sleep seriously, ladies. No matter how tempting it may be to stay up late and watch episodes of Suits, or try to cram in some last-minute work, getting enough sleep is essential for the regeneration and renewal of your skin. If they don't get enough sleep, it makes sense that they would have dark circles under their eyes.

Be mindful of your sleeping habits around the time of your period, particularly if your skin is sensitive.  The only way you can catch some zzz's on Sunday nights is to stop watching reruns of Gossip Girl.
