For Ben Gorham of Byredo, the devil is in the details, and updating a classic can mean simply making one tweak that changes everything.?
In Mister Marvelous, his muse was world-renowned Dutch hair stylist Christiaan Houtenbos. Responsible for the buzzed bob, the 80s undercut, and Grace Jones' signature flattop, Houtenbos' style is perhaps best exemplified by the edgy buzz cut underneath the classic ponytail featured on the runways of Rei Kawakubo.?
For Mister Marvelous, a darkness and depth accompany a more classic foug?¨re construction. Crisp and incensey-dry, Mister Marvelous is a traipse through the (cedar) woods greened and aromatized with lavender and petit grain, with the sharp citrus-floral of neroli to keep it bright. As Mister Marvelous dries down, a vanillic-amber rounds it out, softening it, while an herbaceous, aromatic, woody spiciness predominates.
